Management Team
Rinku Patel – Pine Walk CEO
Rinku is an Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales qualified accountant having trained with BDO Stoy Hayward and moving to Andersen. Rinku was Group Chief Financial Officer & Chief Operating Officer of DUAL Group, Group Chief Financial Officer of Howden Broking Group and Director of Finance at Hyperion Insurance Group (Now Howden Group Holdings) before consulting in 2016/7 to private equity and intermediaries. Previous industry experience includes Software Development (SAAS and non-SAAS), Data/Information businesses and Insurance.
Rinku founded Pine Walk in 2017 with Fidelis and currently has 6 MGAs under the platform.
Tom Lawson – Group Technical Services Director
Tom qualified as an ACCA accountant at Reed Business Information and for the past 10+ years has focused on finance and information roles in insurance and MGA businesses. In 2010 he joined DUAL International as Group Financial Controller, consolidating the financial accounts and insurance data of multiple international businesses. Tom joined Pine Walk Capital in 2018 and built out the financial and insurance reporting systems for Pine Walk and the MGAs. Today he oversees finance, across reporting and forecasting, as well as the IT side of the business focusing on both network security and data reporting.
Nigel Lee – Operations Director
For 30 years Nigel has held director level compliance and operations roles for regulated entities in the Lloyd’s, London Company and Hong Kong insurance markets. Joining Pine Walk in January 2018, Nigel has embedded our compliance risk and control frameworks that are in place across Pine Walk and our underlying MGA businesses. Nigel holds a Master’s degree in Insurance and Risk Management from Bayes Business School and he is a Fellow of the CII.

Mike Cottell – Director
Mike Cottell graduated from Oxford in 2001. He is a qualified solicitor having trained at Clifford Chance then moved to an Insurance firm (DAC Beachcroft). He has been a board member of PWCL since 2020 and worked in establishing the Pine Walk platform in 2017 and has worked on all following transactions adding further MGAs. In addition to his position on the Pine Walk board, Mike is Assistant General Counsel at the Fidelis Group where he has been in-house since 2017 and manages the legal team day to day.
